Molecular sieve, also known as synthetic zeolite, is a kind of aluminosilicate microporous crystal, which forms 13X molecular sieve according to different silicon aluminum ratio.
Now, we will introduce several different applications.
1. Dehydration and drying application
As a polar adsorption material, molecular sieve has very strong hydrophilic characteristics. It is a common dehydration and drying adsorbent, and also a relatively expensive adsorbent among conventional adsorbents. The pore diameter of molecular sieve 13X is larger than that of type A molecular sieve, and the water absorption characteristics are more obvious.
Molecular sieve 13X is mainly used for drying and dehydration in various types of air dryers and industries with high requirements for water content. Molecular sieve can be used for adsorption dehydration in oil industry, natural gas industry and liquid hydrocarbon drying treatment.
2. Adsorption purpose
Molecular sieves are widely used in gas separation because they can adsorb molecules smaller than their own pore size.
Molecular sieve 13X has high adsorption capacity for polar molecules such as H2O, NH3, H2S and CO2.
*If applied to air compressor, it can achieve high-precision adsorption of water and carbon dioxide.
*Molecular sieve 13X is often used for gas adsorption separation, such as water adsorption and sulfide containing gas.
3. Use of catalytic carrier
Because the pore diameter of molecular sieve 13X is relatively large in microporous molecular sieve, it is very suitable for catalytic reaction as a carrier, so it is often used in chemical catalytic production synthesis.
Generally, two adsorption dryers are used in parallel for drying gas in industrial production, one of which works, while the other can be regenerated. The dryer works at 8-12 ℃, and is flushed and regenerated at 350 ℃. Of course, different types of molecular sieves have slightly different regeneration temperatures.
