Types of chemical adsorbents(I)

2021-10-08

The adsorbents is commonly used in industrial area, include molecular sieves, activated alumina, silica gel, activated carbon etc. The success of gas adsorption and separation largely depends on the performance of the adsorbents, so choosing a suitable adsorbent is very important based on the final application.
Molecular sieve
Definition: Also called synthetic zeolite molecular sieve, the molsiv adsorbents. the main component is alumino silicate, which is mainly used for gas adsorption and separation, and drying of gas and liquid. Main types of molecular sieves are as follows:
3A molecular sieve: drying of various liquids (such as ethanol); air drying; drying of natural gas, methane etc.;
4A molecular sieve: deep drying of air, natural gas, alkanes and other gases; the first choice of adsorbents for air compressor dryer;
5A molecular sieve: industrial pressure swing adsorption hydrogen production (PSA hydrogen); air purification dehydration and carbon dioxide;
13x molecular sieve: drying and desulfurization of natural gas and LPG; deep drying of general gas.
13x APG molecular sieve: gas purification in the air separation unit to remove moisture and carbon dioxide;
Oxygen molecular sieve: divided into sodium type and lithium type oxygen molecular sieve, used for household and Industrial oxygen concentrator;
Carbon molecular sieve: The main component is carbon, coal is used as raw material, and the carbon molecular sieve is prepared through activation process. The pore size is 4A, the normal diameter is 1.1-1.3mm, 1.5-1.7mm, and it can also be customized according to customer requirements. Carbon molecular sieve is used to produce nitrogen, which can obtain up to 99.999% nitrogen. It has been successful in the field of producing nitrogen from air separation, and has broad applications in other gas separation.
