Carbon molecular sieve replacement in PSA nitrogen generator

2022-08-28

In the last article, we talked about the working principle of nitrogen generators and the analysis of common faults of carbon molecular sieves.
Today we will focus on introducing the replacement method of carbon molecular sieve in nitrogen generator. Generally, the service life of carbon molecular sieve is 5 ~7 years. As a result, after long-term use, the nitrogen concentration and nitrogen production will decrease. At this time, we need to replace the carbon molecular sieve.

After the nitrogen generator system is shut down, an experienced nitrogen generator replacement carbon molecular sieve manufacturer should be required to replace and install it immediately. The company briefly introduces the replacement steps and precautions of the nitrogen generator carbon molecular sieve:
1. First stop the compressed air supply, unload the internal pressure of the nitrogen generator system until all pressure gauges return to zero, and cut off the system power;
2. If the nitrogen outlet pipe is connected to the top of the adsorption tower, it is necessary to separate the nitrogen outlet pipe first, and then remove the top cover of the adsorption tower one by one;
3. Clean up the carbon molecular sieve in the packed column filled with carbon molecular sieve;
4. Check whether the wire mesh and brown pad in the packing tower are damaged;
5. Check that there is no residue in the tower packing and prepare for filling;
6. A layer of brown pad can be placed on the floor, then 5 cm of activated alumina can be placed, and then the carbon molecular sieve can be filled;
7. When filling to the top, use a hammer or vibrating equipment to vibrate the adsorption tower to ensure that the carbon molecular sieve is packed tightly, and then fill the carbon molecular sieve beyond the tower by 5-10 cm to improve the packing cover;
8. Reset all equipment and parameters after filling.
